Pups at PetSmart

Picking up dogfood without dogs is boring, so I take them with me!

Maverick loves the bird cage, of course.

And Sheba goes crazy in the cookie aisle, as expected.

She puts her head right in the shelves.

And drags Maverick along to inspect every package.

Crafty wedding gift

What do you give someone who has everything? Booze, of course!

I taught myself the art of glass etching (which is super easy!) and whipped up this bucket o'booze.

The trimming of the hedges

I began with hand clippers and quickly realized I needed more power!

Thanks, Mom, for such a wonderful electric hedge trimmer and 100' extension cord gift. You made trimming 72 bushes a doable undertaking!

Being a homeowner sometimes has simple joys :)

Swedish visitors

Wining and dining with Henrik's brother, sister-in-law, and two friends was a great way to start out the new year!

Fun was had by all... including Mr. Maverick and Miss Sheba, who loathed the extra attention and trip to the beach.

Mice be gone!

After being away for a week, this is what I came home to find... moldy peanut butter! I guess the mice have moved on- yay :)

Christmas with the Critters

We celebrated with the pups before heading to Pennsylvania. Maverick enjoyed the box as much (or more than!) the toy inside. I so wish they both could have joined us in the snow!

On the farm, the chickens enjoyed the fresh snow- I was a strange sight!

Henrik herded the cows toward the barn- hee haw!

We worked together to corral and lure all 34 cows inside to their assigned stanchions. It went like this: open the barn door, go have drink in milk house, return to find cows inside. Repeat.

The Swedish Cowboy may have made this look easy, but trust me it was a challenge at times. There were many beers consumed during the process.

Last step was to lay down straw for the cows to sleep upon. Fashionable footwear optional ;)

From Pennsylvania, with love...

White Christmas

Christmas just doesn't seem Christmas until the white fluffy stuff! And there was plenty of it.

Knee-deep in the yard, with flurries three days in a row! And constant below-freezing temperatures...

This year was extra special with Henrik joining the family Xmas :)

Christmas spirits are essential for warmth, and best when shared in good company.

Cheers :)
