Power lines and neighbors

A wild wind storm snapped a few trees and the telephone pole at the end of the driveway. Miraculously, the power stayed on!

The utility workers came by, cut power during the repair, and put up the caution tape. It looks like a crime scene!

Seven trucks later- everything is back in order.

Dinner with the Marshall's. It's been years since we've all been together. Great seeing everyone!

Xmas in Pennsylvania

Xmas pups! They love Christmas!

Little elf Sheba, looking mischievous.

Handsome boy.

Long day of gifts and they're exhausted! Bowser Beer from Aunt Shelley was a crowd favorite.

Mags did not appreciate the antlers and gave them a quick shake!

Christmas sweaters! Mavie wore his everyday outside because it's hunting season and he runs like a deer through the woods!

After a day of play, Grandma K fed the pups a Popsicle!

Mavie got treats in his stocking and shared his Scooby Snacks with his sister. He looks so proud!

(Backup) Pennsylvania Festivus

Mavie and I drove to PA for Xmas. He just loves playing in the snow.

Athan and Guinness came to visit, too, and we explored the frozen Lake Erie.

Mavie could hardly walk on the ice and kept slipping and sliding, but he loved it! So handsome!

Afterwards, we stopped by Erie Brewing Company for an obligatory craft beer to warm up!

Then on to the farm for some sledding! Guinness didn’t know what to think about us dredging uphill in knee-deep snow.

It sure was cold, we only made it on one go of the sled before heading to the milk house to warm up!

Later on, we dressed up the fur kids in festive head gear. They are good sports.

And much later, met Dad at the Legion. Happy Festivus!

Eastward!

In three days, we drove 1,300 miles through 10 states!

Oregon to Washington, it was dark and icy!

Idaho to Montana was brighter and lots of snow.

Wyoming. It was neat to see the entrance to Yellowstone National Park, since I visited there last in 2002.

South Dakota. I thought of Grandpa Beck's stories from his hunting trips through this area.

Including Wall Drug- it was as fabulous as all of the roadside signage promises!

Cows at dawn in South Dakota.

The mountains disappeared as we neared Minnesota.

We took a second stopover in Iowa- saw an ice cave and the incredible Toppling Goliath brewery.

Nice trails for the dogs, but it was chilly!

Beautiful waterfall in Decorah, Iowa.

A jaunt through Wisconsin and a quick stop in Chicago for some deep dish pizza with Josh & Ann. Worth the drive!

A few days in Indiana with Charley's family.

Dogs had a blast in the fields at the RV Hall of Fame!

Lights on Peacock Lane

This area of town is known for their epic displays of lights at Christmas.

It was cold and rainy, but still pretty.

This gingerbread house is nothing like homes in Florida, where they decorate palm trees! It's cozy and feels like winter.

I suspect there are carolers on dryer days. But it was still a sight to be seen!

Flat tire

After all the miles I've driven this trip, I guess it was inevitable that I'd eventually have a flat.

Good thing I have a handy boyfriend! And a great coworker who insisted on checking the PSI of the spare before I left Florida.

Charley put on the donut to get me to the tire store where they repaired it- good as new.

On the way home, I saw this billboard and laughed when I read it out loud. Oh, the Pacific Northwest. So different than everywhere!

Hood River in a quick minute

Hood River is a cute little town where we spent a day adventuring.

Never get tired of seeing waterfalls.

It was really cold in the mist!

I was too scared to take the bridge across the river. It was very slippery!

This view was from the back porch of a brewery in White Salmon, Washington, across the river. There is my mountain. I just love Mt. Hood!

Wrigley's 11th birthday

Another day of rain. Maverick put on his jacket.

He seems to like it, so we had an idea…

Maybe Wrigley would like a jacket? By the look on his face, he was not amused by our suggestion.

He was even less enthused walking around in the yard. So we took him on a special birthday hike. Just Charley, Wrigley, and Sarah. Unfortunately we didn't get any pictures because it was raining cats and dogs!

The Furkids reunited for the birthday party. There were frosty paws and party hats!

And Big Wrig got to open a new toy. It was only a matter of seconds before Sheba wanted to steal the lion, but they shared and had a fun time!
