Already ready already!

We're all moved in and most of the boxes are unpacked. Since the house is so much bigger than what we were used to for the past year, I can't say that everything is put away, but its nearly all unpacked! There are just so many closets and cupboards that I can't decide what should go where!

Our pets are thoroughly enjoying the big yard; Mav has even dug himself a hole to lay in the shade under the porch. The yard is super huge for little Otis, who has been getting a ton of exercise walking all around; we don't have to worry

about a raccoon coming to have a bite of the tortoise with the big brown guard dog out there protecting the place! We've been busy with getting the yard ready for veggies and bird-attracting flowers... more pictures to follow soon!

Warm Weather and a New House

We're finally moving this weekend, yay! And the weather is going to be warm and sunny, wow! Can't wait to be in a real house, one that is not on stilts, and have a real yard, even with a fence for the Mav-man! The boxes are piling up in our kitchen and the countdown to Saturday begins...

Pizza, pizza!

A wee bit of packing, catching up on LOST, and making another pizza from scratch is what we've been up to this week... still love that baking stone! I think its getting better at baking the more times that I use it. The essential ingredients to my best pizzas are as follows:

Semolina flour, fresh herbs, garlic, cheese, mushrooms, breadmaker, baking stone, and talented boyfriend... see below!

Mavrerick's Sweet New Threads

Even though Maverick is the cutest, most charismatic dog in the whole wide world, he does not like to go out in the rain and get his fur wet. I finally found a rain coat that fits and voila, he thinks he's in heaven! The first time we tried it out it was brisk and windy at the beach and he spashed around in the ocean with his new outfit. But today it was raining and we put it to the real test- Maverick thought it was his birthday all over again as he pranced and posed around the park like he was the Dog of Dogs. I don't know if Maverick or Ben and I get more entertainment out of this Fido Fleece rain coat?

Happy Berf-day Maverick

Maverick was born on April Fool's Day, six years ago today! He's had a lovely day with both of us taking him to the beach this morning and playing with his new toy in the ocean (water temp is now 45-degrees!) He had the luxury of napping all day and then when we got home from work, it was time for his usual birthday treat: puppy fries and a puppy cone! We went to Burger King (5 miles away) and he was ready to bark his order into the drive-thru speaker but no one was there to listen because they were closed :( What kind of Burger King closes at 4pm? We tried Dairy Queen (5.5 miles away) but they were closed, too. We had to drive south to Kitty Hawk to find the nearest fast food joint (21 miles away) but he didn't mind hanging his head out the window and letting the wind blow in his fur the whole time!

Mav thoroughly enjoyed his special berf-day treats at the park but the best present of all comes in a few weeks... when we move into a big house with a fenced-in yard! He really is going to be king of the castle when he has his own special place to run around and hunt for yummy snackamanders and saladmanders (that's what Brother Falkor likes to call lizards in his yard!)
