White Christmas

Even though it didn't snow on Christmas Day, I kept plenty busy with activities to keep warm. From cozy next to the potbelly stove with my twin Cousin Rachael...

to snuggled up with Mom and a few warming beverages...

and shoveling cow poop in the barn with Dad...

it sure was pretty!

And this is what it looked like on the morning I was heading back to Florida...
and the loooooong drive to Pittsburgh!

Marco Hill Run

5 miles. Up hill! I didn't believe there were hills in Florida- there are! The ancient Calusa shell mounds have been covered over with pavement and homes, making the toughest race course around. With the holidays fast approaching, this was an excellent workout. Thanks Susan & Lisa for the motivation!

Doggy Dress-up

I may not be the Christmas tree type... But I do enjoy dressing up these dogs in festive attire! They must really love me to let me embarrass them like this (every single year!)

Xmas parade

I like to take Mavie and Sheebs everywhere I can, so I thought the Christmas Parade would be fun. I am so glad Andrea and Megan were there, because I did not take into account that my dogs bark at the following: motorcycles, diesel engines like fire trucks, dogs, people in uniform, and people of color. The parade was comprised of many of those and there was a lot of barking. Maverick was so scared of the sirens that he was in my lap. Sheba was happily picking up the popcorn that Sage was dropping. And they both tried to catch every piece of candy thrown into the crowd. I don't beileve parades will be our family tradition!

Adventure Race

The Turkey Trot was a good practice for our annual appearance as the Rookery Bay Tandem Reindeer Team in the Adventure Race!

70 participants and a rainbow of kayaks!

Tandem teams got a 2 minute head start this year, so we felt like we were ahead of the pack!

We finished 2nd this year- must be the antlers :)
