Wholly Tomatoes!

Our garden is really coming along nicely- the tomatoes are as tall as I am! No red ones yet, but TONS of green ones and more each day! We've been harvesting the lettuce almost daily and can see little squash, zukes, and cukes growing at least an inch per day. The peppers have nickel and quarter sized green peppers on them, its really adorable. The beans are taking over the second raised bed with their spindles climbing the bean fence almost before your eyes. Can't wait to bring home some fancy mozzarella from the Sanderling and slice up some fresh tomatoes and basil from our own garden!

Family Day

Welcome to the family, Sheba! We have now officially adopted Maverick's best friend, what a great Father's Day present for the whole household! To celebrate, we took a ride in the car to our favorite sunset spot and let the pups play in the sound. Sheba is quite a swimmer and Maverick wants to follow her into the deep but he's too afraid, so instead he barks at her from chest-deep water and when she comes back with the stick, he steals it from her and runs the other way.

Then came bathtime... I tried something new by putting both in the tub at the same time. Sheba jumped out only one time and Maverick moped everytime I stopped scrubbing him to wash her. I think Boxers are the masters of mope!

A Day at the Park

Sheba and Maverick are getting along like old friends and they are just so darned cute together! We took them to the park this weekend and they ran round and round like they don't have their own huge yard to play in, haha. They chased each other and wore themselves out!

They look like horses on a track they're running so fast!

Step-Sister Sheba

Maverick is still on high from his summer vacation, but he is more than thrilled to be sharing his yard with a friend's dog for a few days... meet Sheba! She is also a boxer mix, but her papa was a lab instead of shar pei, like the Mav. They have the same mannerisms and get along like two peas in a pod. My favorite thing is that she licks Maverick's muzzle about 100 times a day to let him know that he's in charge. He pretends that he doesn't like it but we know he does because he hasn't stopped smiling :) He has a partner in crime to chase the squirrels away from Ben's bird feeder in addition to running around like a crazy maniac in the big yard!

We spent the weekend getting lots of landscaping done- this time in the front yard. It looks much better with some plants and mulch out front! Doesn't the house look so strange with no windows on the left side? Good thing for skylights or we'd be in the dark!
